Get ready to sea things differently

... during Oban, Lorn and the Isles' 3rd Festival of the Sea: 22 - 31 May 2015

Our climate, geography, heritage and employment are defined by the sea. This community festival recognises the relationship between local people and the sea in celebration and with pride.

This year events will include a sea costumes parade, seafood event, an all things marine environment and careers fair, the premiere screening of a number of short films, talks, water sports and marine heritage happenings, storytelling on the beach and art exhibitions to mention just a few! We will also have a small presence at the Skerryvore Decade. The programme is still growing and will be available here first!

Our education programme is already in full swing and explores sea monsters: keep an eye out as mini monsters from the deep will start stalking the town and coast over the coming months...

The festival is organised by the Ocean Explorer Centre and supported by SAMS, BID4Oban, the Scottish Government, the University of the Highlands and Islands and the Argyll and Bute Regional Environmental Education Forum.
